YES, WE CAN – Change We Can Believe In

My fellow church-ites;

You have a right to have a great church.  I’m telling you that you should exercise that right.  Some people just settle for a typical church or a good church, but I believe the Bible teaches that Jesus built a GREAT church.  Can we help improve church and see that people who have left for various reasons begin to return?

YES, WE CAN!

You need to be educated to the fact that people refrain from going to church because awful past experiences.  Can we be of assistance to them by helping them see the light by expressing our rights as church-ites and making it more persuasive for them to return?

YES, WE CAN!

How about those impoverished folk, who live on the welfare of self-centeredness, and refuse to come to church because they think it’s boring, cliquish or it is just not for them?  Can we see to it that our rights as church-ites are fully implemented by those in the inside the beltway of religion so that we may compel those in the highways and byways to come in?

YES, WE CAN!

Consider yourselves, the ones who go because you know it’s your responsibility and love of the Master.  Should you have to go with dread that it will be uneventful again or constantly hoping every time you go that somehow or someway it might get better? No. Can we earnestly pray that our rights are re-established so that our excitement will once again be ignited by the fire that once burned so brightly?

YES, WE CAN!

My fellow church-ites, we have a bill of rights for church-ites.  You should be attentive to them, memorize them and recognize you have rights.

THE CHURCH-ITES BILL OF RIGHTS

  1. You have a right to decide where you should go to church under God’s leadership.
  2. You have a right to wear within reason what you should wear.
  3. You have a right to worship and praise in an uninhibited method.
  4. You have a right to expect a service that is anointed by the Holy Spirit.
  5. You have a right to expect the sermon to motivate, inspire and challenge you.
  6. You have a right to expect the music to uplift, enhance and glorify God.
  7. You have a right to expect the pastor to have fully studied, researched his facts and deliver his sermon with enthusiasm.
  8. You have a right to expect the people of the church to be passionate, loving and caring about everyone in your church.
  9. You have a right to expect your children to be fully cared for, attended to and taught with extreme care and diligence the Bible.
  10. You have a right to expect the teachers of the church to be an model of what they teach to the best of their ability.
  11. You have a right to expect that your gifts and abilities are used in the church.
  12. You have a right to expect your pastor to be very honest and open with you so that you may grow and mature in Christ.

Going to a church Sunday after Sunday, giving your tithes and offerings, and not getting anything in return, even dreading going and where your rights are not acknowledged is comparable to a person going to a restaurant time and time again, despising the food and the atmosphere and paying for a meal he didn’t care for.

No logic. No way. No how.

I dare you to go to a church where your rights are exercised. Can you find a church like that?

YES, WE CAN!

That’s what I think about it.

  1. Great blog dad. Great ideas. Your right. That analogy at the end about the restaurant is priceless. Never thought about it that way.
